Text Box: BURTON JOYCE FC ANNUAL AWARDS Burton Joyce Junior Football Club Annual Awards ceremony takes place at Notts County Ground 18th May 2009. Starting at 5.30 pm this was a series of awards for the players including the players “player award. The Manager “player” award and the other more confusing awards. This was a terrific evening of team building and encouragement for our young players of Burton Joyce. Well done to all the Managers and Coaches that went to the effort of organising raffles, awards and a cheap bar. Burton Joyce Parish Council was there Cllr Steve Cluff as a guest and photograph the proceedings for BJFC. Copies of the photos are lodged with Matt Murray at BJ Football Club. Hosted by BJFC chairman Paul Doherty , Andy Parkinson and Team Managers with special guest Ex England International  Des Walker who gave up his time to present and inspire the lads with these Awards. Here is a sample from the 339 pictures taken and some of the 650 participants Click the pic       Friday Night is Football  Night at The Poplars Summer is here again with the Friday night  Football evenings Come down for a training session Boys ,Girls all ages . With on average 8 year groups. Pavilions bar is open and BBQ every Friday night this summer weather permitting. Come at meet a Councillor—there are normally at least 2 on duty Friday nights Friday 22 May 2009 saw  just under 400 mums dads and children and the weather wasn't even that great. Wait for the balmy evenings !!!.

YEL Finals

Poplars Sports Ground plays host to the Y.E.L finals of teams from around the Nottinghamshire regions battle for the  title in the various age leagues. Whilst their were none of our BJFC teams present some were knocked out earlier some play in different Finals Rounds– The Poplars gave a warm welcome to all the youngsters and their parents and a good sporting day was had by all.
