Gedling Borough Council’s Planning Committee is to consider the application by STW to erect a single wind turbine on the edge of the village at its meeting on Wednesday 18th September. Burton Joyce Parish Council has written to each member of the Planning Committee individually to reinforce its objections to the development on the following grounds:
Inappropriate development in the green belt
The scale and height of the proposed turbine is disproportionate to the landscape
Impact on cultural heritage assets
Impact on the operation and enjoyment of the Poplars Sports Ground
The recommendation of the Gedling Borough Planning Officers to recommend approval of the scheme subject to a number of conditions being met is disappointing and fails to address many of the reasons the scheme was turned down on its first application. The outcome of the Planning Meeting will be reported on the Parish Council website as soon as it is known.
